Steph Callisto

Bachelor of Medical Science (Vision Science) Master of Optometry

From a young age, Steph Callisto wanted a career where she could learn a valuable skill and share it with people who could really benefit. After visiting an optometrist, and learning how good vision can positively influence a person’s quality of life, she realised optometry was the perfect fit.

After graduating from Flinders University, Steph brought her passion for vision to Port Augusta and Gulf and Ranges Optometrists. Steph’s values perfectly align with Gulf and Ranges’, where we are passionate about providing exceptional optometric services to our patients and the broader community.

Steph is a keen volunteer and has spent time in eye camps in Nepal. She also gives back through community involvement and demonstrates this dedication through her positions on the Board of Optometry South Australia and Early Career Optometrists SA.

Steph is also a fierce advocate for rural optometrists. This began during her time at Flinders University where her commitment to rural advocacy won her the coveted Rural and Remote Clinical Optometry Award given to the optometry student who has made the most significant contribution to rural and remote clinic settings throughout the five-year degree.

Steph looks forward to becoming even more involved with Port Augusta’s wonderful community. When she isn’t busy giving eye health checks, you can find Steph on the netball court or heading out early for the local park run.
We certainly hope she doesn’t run too far – Steph is a wonderful asset to Gulf and Ranges, and we’re exceptionally pleased to have her on board!
