Is there a charge to see an Optometrist?
Yes we do charge patients to see our Optometrists and we do offer on the spot Medicare rebates for eligible patients. Our Optometrists like to understand you and your vision needs. Comprehensive eye examinations involve determining your visual needs and the provision of choice to improve what you see. Our Optometrists also focus on identifying and maintaining good eye health for now and into the future. All of our Optometrists use their depth of experience and ongoing learning to provide best practice combined with the latest technology.
How long is the appointment?
Every patient is different and so we offer a range of different appointments type that vary in time. As a general rule for Patients new to the practice or returning for a Comprehensive Eye Examination the time with the Optometrists will be 40 minutes but may be up to 1 hour.
This time allows us to really understand why you have come to see us and find solutions to your vision and eye health needs.
How long will I wait for my specs to come back?
Once you have been prescribed lens by the Optometrists and our Optical Dispensers have helped you to select appropriate frames it take approximately 10 working days for your custom made device to return. Our Team will text message or call to say your eyewear has arrived awaiting collection. On collection the Team will check to ensure your new eyewear is comfortable both for the vision and the fit.
Can we test children’s eyes, and how young can they be?
Yes we are very happy to test children’s eyes. Our Optometrists have as part of their ongoing learning gained additional qualifications in paediatric management. We have lifetime relationships with patients, and often may care for 4 generations of the same family.
If I have something in my eye or mucky eyes should I see an Optometrist?
Our optometrists are very passionate about eyes and have all completed a minimum of 5 years of university level studies purely with a focus on eyes, eye health and vision.
Our Team are best placed to help you with your eye health and all our optometrists are therapeutically endorsed. This means our optometrists can diagnose the problem and write the eye medication scripts to be filled at a pharmacy, and review your recovery as necessary.
Our Optometrists also have great working relationships with GP’s and Ophthalmologists and they can communicate your eye management with them as required.
