Mitch Hancock

Pursuing a lifelong passion for optometry, Mitch moved to South Australia after graduating from Optometry at UNSW in Sydney.
He started practicing in Port Augusta in 1996, then moved to Mount Gambier for 6 years before returning to Port Augusta and establishing Gulf and Ranges Optometrists in 2005.
Mitch holds a Masters in Optometry and a Certificate in Ocular Therapeutics.
He has completed additional study in Early Childhood Vision Development, Vision Assessment for Children with Disabilities, Behavioural Optometry, Advanced Ocular Disease Management and Advanced Contact Lens Fitting.
Patient care is a top priority for Mitch, he is focused on the early detection of vision problems and provides practical treatment options to suit the patient.
With a love of technology, Mitch is constantly on the lookout for new ways to augment the practice’s already impressive range of equipment.
Mitch keeps busy outside of work looking after his and wife Tiffany’s four children.
The family enjoy scuba diving, judo and family holidays. Mitch is also a cricket tragic.
