How old does my child need to be for an eye check?2022-04-18T09:46:48+09:30

We are able to test children’s eyes from as young as soon after birth. We are happy to see your child if you are concerned about anything at all, such as you notice that your baby is squinting, or if there are family history vision issues.

We use methods other than the alphabet for children who have not learnt to read, such as  colourful targets and lights disguised as games.

The optometrist that sees your child has paediatric management qualifications to ensure that they spot any sight issues before they cause problems, or learning difficulties.

How long will my appointment be?2022-04-18T09:43:43+09:30

Every patient is different, so we offer a range of appointment types.

As a rule, if you are new to the Practice or coming in for a comprehensive eye examination you will be with your optometrist for around 40 minutes to 1 hour. This allows your optometrist to really understand why you have come in and find solutions for any vision or eye health needs.

If I have something in my eye, or mucky eyes, should I see an optometrist?2022-04-18T09:47:01+09:30

We can help you with your eye health. All our optometrists are therapeutically endorsed, which means they can diagnose your problem and provide you with any eye medication scripts you may need. We follow up with you and also review your recovery if necessary.

Our optometrists have close working relationships with GPs and ophthalmologists, and communicate with your health professional to manage your eye condition.

How long before I get my new glasses?2022-04-18T09:47:13+09:30

Once you have been prescribed lenses by your optometrist and an optical dispenser has helped you to select your new glasses frames it takes approximately 10 – 15 working days for your custom made glasses to arrive at the Practice.

You will receive a text message or phone call to let you know that your glasses have arrived and are ready for you to collect. When you come into pick up your new glasses, you will have a few checks made to ensure you are comfortable with your new eyewear.

Is there a charge to see the optometrists?2022-04-18T09:47:48+09:30

Yes, we do charge patients to see our optometrists. We provide on-the-spot Medicare rebates for eligible patients.

We have longer appointments so that your optometrists can get a comprehensive understanding of your vision needs.

Your eye examination involves determining your visual needs and providing choices to improve what you see. Your optometrist will discuss how you can maintain good eye health into the future.

All optometrists at the Practice pursue ongoing learning to provide you with the best service and we utilise the latest technology to ensure any problems are found early.
